Let me just say was FABULOUS! Brian did a super job planning everything! Our 10 year anniversary was Friday! Brian dropped the girls off at school Friday while I finished getting ready, and we hit the road!
Destination: Big Cedar Lodge - 10 miles south of Branson, MO
We've talked about going up there before, and decided celebrating 10 years would be a nice excuse to go!
Welcome home for the weekend....our private cabin
After dinner Friday night, Brian gave me a lovely silver and pearl bracelet! Love that man!
I didn't know until the drive up on Friday what exactly we were doing Saturday. Brian had told me that I would be busy from 9-12, but I didn't know what I was going to be busy doing! ha We woke up about 7 a.m. and our breakfast was delivered about 7:30! It was quite tasty and so convenient to have it brought to us while still in our jammies! Then we headed off to the spa!! Really lovin' that man!
We were scheduled for a massage, body wrap, and a pedicure!! It was so wonderfully relaxing! I was about ready to come out of the body wrap though about the time it was time to get "unwrapped!" I was starting to feel a little claustrophobic and was getting warm! Brian said he was starting to get a little antsy, too. Then we had our pedicures....
Brian did forego the polishing portion of the pedicure! ha
Our feet felt so smooth and soft!
The view from the spa deck was lovely!
We grabbed a bite of lunch and walked around the gift shop. Then headed back to our cabin to chill for the afternoon....(and watch the Hogs get their slaughtering in Texas!!)
Saturday evening we got ready for dinner.
But before dinner, we had a carriage ride! Blurry pic....
Much better one that I took myself!
We had a fabulous dinner that evening with some delicious foods we really enjoyed.
Brian built us a fire when we got back to the cabin.
But, I was not feeling well after dinner.
I was starting to think I had food poisoning, but I guess it was just a severe case of indigestion. We got back from dinner around 10 and my stomach was really cramping. Brian called guest services to see if there was any place open for some medicine. The girl called back a little later and said she would have security deliver some Pepto. About an hour later I guess, my stomach just all of the sudden started feeling so much better. I was so relieved....I really wasn't wanting to have to go to the ER! I just wanted to crawl in our comfy feather bed and go to sleep since it was about 12:30 a.m.!
Sunday morning I woke up feeling pretty good! We had a delicious breakfast buffet after we checked out. Took a few pictures and headed back home!
Left: where we ate Saturday night........Right: our cabin is one of those across the lake...not exactly sure which one
One of the lodge buildings
I would highly recommend going here for some R&R...it was so quiet!
So, that's our anniversary weekend! It was so nice to have a full weekend with no kids!! Very refreshing to spend some quality time together just the two of us and just chill and relax!
Of course I would be remiss not to thank the two people who allowed us this kidless weekend....Aunt Judy and Grandy! They shared the weekend babysitting! I think Isabella missed us more than Alexandra did, but they were both so glad to see us Sunday afternoon!
And, to my wonderful hubby, who planned and orchestrated this whole weekend...THANK YOU so very much! It was all splendid!
